What is Arch Linux's release model?
Rolling release. There are no point releases. Arch ships the current upstream of every package, continuously. Run `pacman -Syu` and you're on the latest kernel, latest toolchain, latest everything. Cloudzy's image is rebuilt frequently from current Arch monthly snapshots.
Is Arch a good fit for production servers?
It can be. Arch is stable when you keep it updated. The trade-off is that you're expected to read release news before major updates (kernel jumps, openssl bumps). For teams that prefer slow releases, Debian or AlmaLinux are better fits. For teams that already track upstream, Arch is fine in production.
What is pacman and how does it differ from apt / dnf?
pacman is Arch's native package manager, fast, written in C, dependency resolution in milliseconds. Native repos cover the basics; AUR (Arch User Repository) covers everything else with PKGBUILDs you build locally via tools like yay or paru.
What is the AUR?
The Arch User Repository is a community-driven collection of build scripts (PKGBUILDs) for software not in the official repos. Tools like yay and paru build AUR packages locally on the VPS. Vast, practically any open-source project has an AUR entry.
Which control panels work on Arch?
None of the major commercial panels (cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin) officially support Arch. Webmin can be made to work via AUR but it's unsupported. If a control panel is a hard requirement, pick AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or Debian instead.
