Is the VPS physically in Australia?
Not yet, we serve Australian users from ap-sgp-1 in Singapore. Singapore is the de-facto APAC hub, with direct submarine-cable links to Sydney and Perth. Many Australian builders use Singapore VPSes because the round-trip to Sydney is typically tight, and you also get fast access to SE-Asia from the same box.
Will my Sydney users see good latency?
Yes. Singapore-Sydney is one of the most heavily peered submarine routes in the Pacific. The user-side experience is fast for general web, APIs, and SSH. If you need pure single-digit-ms inside Australia, you'd want a Sydney-resident server, but for most workloads the difference doesn't matter.
Why not host directly in Sydney?
We're focused on the 12 regions we run today, including Singapore for APAC. Sydney is on the roadmap, not the price list. If you specifically need an Australia-resident IP for legal or licensing reasons, this VPS is not the right fit. For everything else (web, APIs, dev environments, VPN, game servers), Singapore works well.
