Is CentOS Linux still supported?
CentOS Linux 7 reached end of life in mid-2024. We offer CentOS Stream 9 and CentOS Stream 10 as one-click images, these are the supported, current branches that sit between Fedora and RHEL. If you ran CentOS 7/8 in the past, Stream is the closest direct continuation.

What is CentOS Stream and how does it differ from CentOS Linux?
CentOS Stream is the rolling-preview branch upstream of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. It tracks what's coming in the next RHEL minor release, getting kernel and package updates a few weeks ahead of RHEL. It's still RHEL-compatible at the package level, yum/dnf, RPM, SELinux all work the same way.

Should I use CentOS Stream or AlmaLinux / Rocky?
If you want a moving target that previews RHEL, pick Stream. If you want a free RHEL clone that lags slightly behind RHEL releases (the 'old CentOS' model), pick AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux. We offer all three as one-click images. cPanel certifies AlmaLinux/Rocky but not Stream.

Which control panels work on CentOS Stream?
Plesk, DirectAdmin, ISPConfig, Webmin, Virtualmin, and CyberPanel run on Stream 9. cPanel does not officially support Stream, it certifies AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux. Use one of those if cPanel is a hard requirement.

How fast does CentOS provision on Cloudzy?

Do I get root access on CentOS?
Yes, full root SSH on every plan. KVM virtualization means you can disable SELinux if you must, change kernels, modify firewalld / nftables rules, and load any kernel module. No shared hypervisor restrictions.

Can I run Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes on Stream?
Yes. Podman ships in the base repos. Docker installs cleanly via the upstream Docker repo. k3s, microk8s, and full upstream Kubernetes also run on Stream 9. The 4 GB plan is the practical floor for k3s with a workload; 8 GB is comfortable.

Can I migrate from CentOS 7/8 to Stream?
In-place upgrade is not officially supported by Red Hat. The cleaner path is to provision a fresh Stream 9 VPS, copy your data and configs over, and decommission the old box. RAM/storage/IP can be transferred via Floating IP for a clean cutover.
