What is code-server?
code-server is the open-source project from Coder that lets you run VS Code in a browser tab against a remote machine. With code-server on a Cloudzy VPS, your editor, terminal, and code all live on the server; your laptop is just a thin client. Same VS Code, same extensions, same shortcuts.
Is code-server pre-installed?
code-server is available as a one-click install from the panel. Pick a Linux template; the binary lands on your PATH, the systemd unit starts on boot, and the web UI is reachable on port 8080 within a minute. Bind to your dedicated IP, slap a Caddy reverse proxy in front for HTTPS.
Which Linux distros do you support?
Ubuntu (LTS and current), Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS Stream, Fedora, and Arch are available as one-click images. code-server runs on all of them. Custom ISO upload is supported on every plan.
Will my VS Code extensions work?
Most do. The Open VSX marketplace is the default extension source for code-server, and it carries the vast majority of common extensions. A few Microsoft-published proprietary ones (Pylance, Live Share) are MS-store exclusives and won't install, there are good open alternatives for each.
Can I use it from a tablet or Chromebook?
Yes, that's a big reason people pick this. Open the URL in any modern browser, log in, code as if you were on a desktop. Your laptop battery and SSD don't get hammered; the VPS does the work.
How fast is provisioning?

Can I run multiple users on one VPS?
code-server itself is single-user per process. For team setups, run multiple code-server processes on different ports under different system users, or look at our Coder VPS page for a multi-user workspace platform.
Are there hidden fees?
No. Egress is included in your monthly transfer allotment. Snapshots are free. IPv4 + IPv6 are included. Root access is included. The only paid extras are Floating IPs ($2.50/month) and additional snapshots beyond the free quota.
