Yes. Our VPS runs on KVM with nested virtualization enabled. After provisioning a Windows VPS, install the Hyper-V role via Server Manager or PowerShell. You can then create and manage VMs inside your VPS.

How much RAM do I need for nested VMs?
Each nested VM needs its own RAM allocation plus overhead for the host. For a single nested VM, start with 4 GB total. For a 2-3 VM lab (domain controller + member server + client), 8-16 GB is comfortable. Complex labs with 4+ VMs want 16-32 GB.

Can I run both Windows and Linux nested VMs?
Yes. Hyper-V supports both Windows and Linux guest VMs. You can run Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS alongside Windows Server and Windows Desktop VMs in the same Hyper-V host.

Is performance affected by nested virtualization?
There is some overhead compared to bare-metal Hyper-V. CPU operations run at near-native speed thanks to hardware-assisted nested virtualization on AMD EPYC. Disk I/O through nested VMs is slower than the host. NVMe storage helps offset this.

Can I use Hyper-V Manager remotely?
Yes. Connect via RDP to your VPS and use Hyper-V Manager directly. You can also use PowerShell remoting or Windows Admin Center for remote Hyper-V management.

What about Hyper-V virtual switches and networking?
You can create internal, external, and private virtual switches in Hyper-V. Nested VMs can reach the internet through the host's external switch. Internal switches work for isolated lab networks between nested VMs.

Can I snapshot nested VMs?
Yes. Hyper-V checkpoints (snapshots) work inside nested VMs. Save a state, make changes, roll back, useful for lab environments where you want to experiment without losing your baseline.
