Can I run a dedicated TF2 server?

Yes. The Team Fortress 2 dedicated server runs cleanly on Linux via SteamCMD (app id 232250). You get full root SSH and a dedicated IPv4, install steamcmd, +login anonymous, +app_update 232250, edit server.cfg, run srcds. You're live in minutes.

Does SourceMod / MetaMod work?

Yes. Both run on TF2 the same way they run on CS. Drop your plugins in addons/sourcemod/plugins/, restart srcds, you're set. The TF2 plugin ecosystem is mature. TF2Items, AdvancedAFKManager, Pure Server Tools, etc. all work.

What about community modes. MGE, jump, trade, deathrun?

All work. Install the relevant plugin packs (MGEMod, FF2, Trade Plus, deathrun_redux), configure server.cfg with sv_pure 0 if you're loading custom content, restart, you're live with the community mode of your choice.

How many slots does TF2 support?

Vanilla TF2 supports up to 24 official slots, but with sv_visiblemaxplayers and plugin help you can run 32+. Most public servers run 24; trade servers run 32; jump and MGE 1v1 servers run smaller (4–10). RAM is rarely the bottleneck. CPU is.

Will my server lag with 24+ players?

TF2 is single-thread heavy and CPU-bound when projectiles, particles, and plugins stack up. Our AMD EPYC tiers give you dedicated cores, no shared CPU. For maximum single-thread speed, our High Frequency CPU plans run 4.2 GHz+ Ryzen at the same price.

Which regions are best?
