What is a V2Ray VPS?
A V2Ray VPS is a cloud server you control where you run V2Ray-core (or its sibling Xray-core), a modular proxy platform built for environments where traditional VPNs are blocked. Unlike OpenVPN or WireGuard, V2Ray is designed to be hard to detect, it can disguise its traffic as TLS, WebSocket, gRPC, or HTTPS. With root access on Cloudzy, you SSH in, install V2Ray, and you have your own private proxy that doesn't look like a proxy on the wire.
V2Ray vs WireGuard, when does V2Ray win?
When the network you're on actively interferes with VPN traffic. WireGuard is faster and simpler, but its UDP packets are easy to fingerprint and block. V2Ray's transports (VMess+WS+TLS, VLESS+Reality, Trojan-gRPC) look like ordinary HTTPS traffic to a deep-packet-inspection box, which makes them resilient on hostile networks. If your network just throttles you, WireGuard is fine. If it blocks you, V2Ray.
Which protocols and transports can I run?
V2Ray-core and Xray-core support VMess (the original), VLESS (lighter, paired with Reality or XTLS), Trojan (TLS-mimicking), Shadowsocks-2022, and Hysteria. Transports include WebSocket, gRPC, HTTP/2, mKCP, and QUIC. Most modern setups use VLESS + Reality + TCP, which doesn't require a real domain or certificate.
Do I need a domain name and TLS certificate?
Some V2Ray transports do (VMess+WS+TLS, Trojan), some don't (VLESS+Reality borrows a real site's TLS handshake without owning the certificate). For domain-based setups, point a subdomain at your VPS IP and run certbot for a free Let's Encrypt cert. We don't bundle the domain, you bring your own.
Which clients can connect to a V2Ray VPS?
On desktop: v2rayN (Windows), V2RayU/V2RayX (Mac), Qv2ray, Clash. On Android: V2RayNG, NekoBox, SagerNet. On iOS: Shadowrocket, Stash, Streisand. The configuration is shared via VMess:// or VLESS:// URI which most clients can scan as a QR code.
Is V2Ray traffic logged?
We don't log VPN traffic itself, what flows through your tunnel is your business. Standard infrastructure logs (login attempts to the VPS, billing) exist as you'd expect from any cloud provider. V2Ray's own logs are off by default in most setups and you can configure them however you want.
Which region should I pick?
Pick a region that's geographically close but on the other side of whatever censorship you're trying to bypass. From mainland China, Tokyo or Singapore typically wins on latency. From Iran, Frankfurt or Amsterdam. From most other regions, pick whatever's nearest your real location.
Can I use V2Ray for legitimate work-from-anywhere?
Yes, that's the original use case. Researchers, journalists, expats, and remote workers all use V2Ray to keep working from networks that block VPNs. As long as the underlying activity is legitimate (your job, your studies, the news you're reading), V2Ray is just a transport. We do not support using it for illegal activity.
Can I run multiple protocols on the same VPS?
