What is a Shadowsocks VPS?

Shadowsocks vs WireGuard or OpenVPN, when to pick which?
Pick Shadowsocks when you want a SOCKS5-style application proxy that's lightweight on the wire, easy to configure per-app, and historically resilient on networks that block standard VPN protocols. Which Shadowsocks implementation should I install?
shadowsocks-libev is the most-deployed implementation, in every distro's package manager. What ports does Shadowsocks need?
Just one TCP port and optionally one UDP port, both of your choice. Most setups expose the same port number for both. Common picks: 8388, 443, or anything else you want. There's no standard 'must-have' port like OpenVPN's 1194.
Which clients can connect?
On desktop: Shadowsocks-NG (macOS), Shadowsocks for Windows, Clash, Qv2ray. On Android: Shadowsocks Android, NekoBox, V2RayNG. On iOS: Shadowrocket, Outline. The configuration is shared as ss:// URI which all clients can scan as a QR code or import from clipboard.
Is the traffic logged?
We don't log VPN/proxy traffic itself, what flows through is your business. Standard infrastructure logs (login attempts to the VPS, billing) exist as you'd expect from any cloud provider. Shadowsocks server logs are minimal by default and you can disable them entirely.
How fast is Shadowsocks on a Cloudzy VPS?
