What is a Coder VPS?
A Coder VPS is a Cloudzy cloud server running Coder, the open-source platform for self-hosted cloud development environments. Define workspaces in Terraform, hand them out to your team, and every developer gets a reproducible, in-browser dev box backed by VS Code or JetBrains. One ops setup, every laptop becomes a thin client.
Is Coder pre-installed?
Coder is available as a one-click install from the panel. Pick a Linux template, the Coder server starts up, and the admin UI is reachable on the dedicated IP within a minute. Bring your own domain, point DNS, run TLS via Caddy. Bring your own license for Coder Enterprise features.
How is it different from code-server?
code-server is the single-user editor. Coder is the multi-user platform that schedules and provisions code-server (or JetBrains, or terminal-only) workspaces for a team, with Terraform templates, RBAC, audit logs, and a workspace catalog. If you have one engineer, code-server. If you have a team, Coder.
Can workspaces run on Cloudzy or AWS or my Kubernetes?
All of the above. Coder templates target any Terraform-supported provider. Cloudzy, AWS, GCP, Azure, plus Kubernetes, Docker, and bare-metal SSH. Common pattern: Coder server on a Cloudzy VPS, workspaces also on Cloudzy VPSes provisioned by template.
What's the minimum VPS size?
The Coder control plane runs comfortably on a 2 GB box for a tiny team or 4 GB for an active one. Heavy workspaces should run on separate VPSes (provisioned by your templates) so they don't compete with the control plane for resources.

Once payment is confirmed, your VPS is live in 60 seconds. With Coder one-click installed, the server is up in another minute. Workspace boots depend on your template; common patterns boot in 30–90 seconds.
Do I get a dedicated IP?
Yes, every VPS comes with a dedicated static IPv4 plus IPv6. Reach the Coder admin URL over the dedicated IP, terminate TLS with Let's Encrypt and Caddy, point a `coder.example.com` at it. Floating IPs are available for failover.
Does it integrate with my SSO?
Yes. Coder supports OIDC out of the box. Google Workspace, Okta, Azure AD, Authentik, Keycloak, etc. Hook it up in `coder.yaml`, and the workspace catalog gates on your team's existing identity provider.
Are there hidden fees?
No. Egress is included in your monthly transfer allotment. Snapshots are free. IPv4 + IPv6 are included. Root access is included. The only paid extras are Floating IPs ($2.50/month) and additional snapshots beyond the free quota.
