Cloudzy’s Windows Server VPS comes with a 180-day evaluation license (also referred to as a Windows Trial Version). After this trial period, you must acquire a proper Windows Server license to continue using your VPS. This guide explains how to obtain the license and choose the right version based on your VPS specifications and Microsoft’s requirements.

  1. Active Cloudzy Account: First, have an active and verified Cloudzy account. This is essential for managing your VPS and its licenses.
  2. Know Your Windows Server Version: Be aware of your VPS’s Windows Server version. Different versions have varying licensing requirements.
  3. Understand VPS Specifications: Know your VPS’s CPU count and RAM amount. These specs influence your license choice.
  4. Access Microsoft Licensing Info: Use Microsoft’s official documentation for licensing details. Find it at Microsoft’s Licensing Website.
  5. Prepare for License Acquisition: Prepare yourself to buy a new license. You can buy it from Microsoft or authorized sellers. This step is key after the 180-day trial.
  6. Be Compliance Aware: Keep yourself informed about Microsoft’s licensing terms. Compliance is crucial to avoid service issues or legal problems.

Acquiring the Appropriate License

Your Cloudzy VPS includes a 180-day evaluation license for Windows Server. After this period, you are responsible for purchasing a full license. Cloudzy does not provide full Windows Server licenses, so you must obtain one yourself.

To choose the right license, first, determine your Windows Server version:

  1. Log into your VPS.
  2. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
  3. Type winver and press Enter. This will show your server’s version and build.
