Cloudzy Education Program: Five University Partnerships and Opportunities for New Projects

Since April 2025, the Cloudzy Education Program has supported five university teams across Canada, Italy, the United States, and the UAE, providing access to computing infrastructure for academic and technical projects.

While its first partnerships have focused on engineering teams, the program is open to students, researchers, and academic groups across a wide range of disciplines.

Supporting University Teams Across Four Countries

Cloudzy currently supports five university teams working on projects involving electric racing vehicles, autonomous technologies, and aerospace engineering.

These partners include:

  • University of Toronto Formula Racing - University of Toronto, Canada
  • Dynamis PRC - Politecnico di Milano, Italy
  • UCalgary Racing - University of Calgary, Canada
  • UW Formula Motorsports - University of Washington, United States
  • University of Birmingham Rocket Propulsion Labs - University of Birmingham Dubai, UAE

For these teams, cloud infrastructure plays a practical role in day-to-day engineering operations. Participating teams have described using Cloudzy servers for computing workloads, CAD file management, handling large engineering files and software licenses, and keeping internal applications accessible to team members.

One team highlighted the performance of AMD EPYC-powered servers for its engineering needs, while two others reported experiencing no downtime with their Cloudzy infrastructure.

Cloudzy sponsors all five teams through its Education Program.

These examples reflect the program's approach: providing computing resources that help university teams manage technical workloads and spend more time on their projects.

"We know what we can contribute. We build and operate cloud infrastructure, and we can make some of those resources available to eligible university projects through credits and discounted access. The students and researchers bring the ideas and expertise. Our part is to understand what they need and find a practical way to support their work."
Aler Rab, Deputy CEO of Cloudzy.

Cloud Resources for Projects Beyond Engineering

The Education Program is not limited to motorsports, aerospace, or computer science. Cloudzy also welcomes applications from projects in scientific research, business, social sciences, arts, and humanities.

Depending on the project, cloud resources might support data analysis, software development, simulations, or digital research platforms.

Eligible applicants can receive cloud credits and discounted access to VPS and GPU infrastructure. Each application is reviewed individually to determine the resources appropriate for the project's requirements.

The program provides computing resources rather than direct financial grants.

Have a Project That Needs Cloud Resources?

Cloudzy continues to welcome applications from university students, professors, research teams, and independent researchers working across different academic disciplines.

Applicants can share an overview of their project, its objectives, and the computing resources they need. Cloudzy reviews each submission individually and typically responds within a few business days.
