Cloudzy Partners With University of Toronto Formula Racing

Cloudzy has partnered with University of Toronto Formula Racing (UTFR), providing cloud infrastructure to support the student engineering team’s design and development work.

UTFR is a student-led Formula SAE team at the University of Toronto that designs and builds open-wheel race cars for international engineering competitions. The team brings together students working across vehicle design, manufacturing, electronics, software, aerodynamics, and other engineering disciplines.

The team is using Cloudzy VPS infrastructure for secure CAD file storage, version control, and hosting its software licensing server. Bringing those systems into a shared cloud environment gives UTFR members remote access to the files and tools they need to collaborate on the car.

For an engineering team working with large CAD files and specialized software, that infrastructure sits behind much of the day-to-day development process. UTFR says Cloudzy’s VPS has allowed its student engineers to work from anywhere while keeping these systems available in one environment.

The partnership marks Cloudzy’s first collaboration of this kind in student motorsport, extending its infrastructure into a hands-on university engineering program where students are designing, building, and testing a competitive race car.
